A large number of our fabrics are certified "OEKO TEX®", what does it mean?

More transparency, for a more sustainable future.

Standard 100 OEKO-TEX® was developed in 1990 to help consumers to find fabrics that are safe for their health and to assess the human-environmental textiles quality.

This certification has been valid in the world since 1992. Standard 100 is an OEKO-TEX® certification that applies to all raw textile products, all processing stages, and all materials. For the time being, laboratory experiments provide about 100 different control parameters and are based on international standards as well as other well-known testing procedures.

At each stage of the process, an OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 fabric was supervised: raw materials, fibers, and coloration. There are no toxic chemicals in it that are harmful to your health.

Textile industry professionals regard it as a safety indicator. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is a synonym of transparency (traceability control), secure manufacturing (tests), and commitment (products chosen and audited by the OEKO TEX Association).

What kind of assurance do we have with this label?

Oeko-Tex 100 is an environmental label in part. The finished product cannot contain any pesticide residues or heavy metals such as lead or cadmium. There are also criteria for color stability and laundering resistance.

Who is in charge to control it?

The controls are conducted in an independent way, using samples collected by members of the International Oeko-Tex Association.

For Northern Spirit, for us...

As you know, transparency is extremely essential to us. We focus all of our attention not just on the quality of our product, but also on the working conditions and quality of all of our suppliers. This label serves as a proof to us that all of our suppliers share Northern Spirit's commitments.

It includes not only environmental commitments, but also working conditions for all of our suppliers' employees. It is a matter of environmental and societal responsibility.

This label also indicates that the products we use have been thoroughly evaluated before to our own testing. It assures us that the highest level of quality is available. There are also color stability and washing resistance parameters, which are essential for us to ensure that your product does not move in the future.

Our slogan is "consume less, but better." We don't want you to have to buy the same product again after a year because it damaged or the colors changed. It was not only manufactured in an environmentally responsible manner, but it was also consumed in an environmentally beneficial manner. Overproduction and overconsumption are both things we want to avoid. And we hope you will join us in these commitments...

Consume less, but better 🖤
